Nanjing has a long history, with more than 6000 years history of civilization, 2600 years of city construction and 500 years of capital history. It is one of the first-approved national historical and cultural cities in China, as well as one of its key tourist cities. It is one of the four ancient capitals in China, named as the capital of six dynasties, or ten regimes, and is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall

The Memorial Hall stands on the site where the Japanese invaders killed so many Chinese. You can visit Jiangdong Gate and the site where the dead are buried. Built with white marble in a solemn and awe-inspiring atmosphere, integrated with historical materials, heritage, architecture, sculpture and film, it's a unique historical gallery that fully displays the extensive massacre.

Nanjing Presidential Palace

Located in the ancient city of Nanjing is the former Nationalist government presidential palace. With 600 years of history of construction, it is now China's largest modern history museum. The museum has three areas, and in the middle are the national government, presidential palace and affiliated offices. In the western part is the temporary presidential office of Sun Yat-sen, the Secretariat, and the West Garden, as well as the Chiefs of Staff; the eastern part is mainly the former site of the executive department, stables and the East Garden. Exhibition halls and historical materials are distributed in these three areas. There are terraces and open halls, and the ancient woods that form a typical Huizhou South Classical Garden.

Xuanwu Lake

Xuanwu Lake, originally named Sang Po, is China's largest imperial landscape lake, and also the only remaining southern imperial garden, with over 1500 years of history. There are five oases in Xuanwu Lake, which form five scenic spots. The five oases are Huangzhou, Yingzhou, Lingzhou, Liang Zhou and Cuizhou. Bridges connect and integrate all five oases. There are mountains and water everywhere, with picturesque views all the year round. There are fish in the lake and there are pink lotuses planted around. It's so green in summer and fall, full of fragrance and charming scenery.

Hunan Road

Hunan Road is a bustling pedestrian street, with one store after another, suitable for every consumers. The Pacific Department Store is recommended, which stocks all major brands.

Xin Jiekou

Xin Jiekou is the city center of Nanjing, full of big and small shops. The famous ones are the Xinjiekou department stores and Nanjing Central Shopping Center, where mid-range clothing is sold. Nanjing salted duck

Nanjing is called 'the capital of duck', which shows how much the people of Nanjing enjoy duck. Salted duck has a thousand years of history, and is distinguished in its characteristics of fragrance, crispiness and delicacy. Salted duck tastes best and has its best color at the time around the middle of the fall, because it is made during the blossoming season of sweet-scented osmanthus, thus earning the nickname of sweet-scented osmanthus duck. Duck blood and vermicelli soup

Hot and Spicy Crayfish

The buses in Nanjing urban areas are mainly air-conditioned. 1 RMB is needed for ordinary buses, and 2 RMB is needed for air-conditioned ones.


Taxi prices start at 9 RMB for distance less than three kilometers, with a 2 RMB fuel surcharge. Any distance further than 3 km is charged at 2.4 yuan/km. No extra charge is added when the taxi is waiting.

Nanjing has a humid subtropical climate, with an annual average temperature of 15.3℃. Its rainy season is between the middle of June and the beginning of July.
