Shenzhen Transit Procedures
I. Domestic-to-international flight transfers
1. Domestic passengers transferring to international flights using a checked-through ticket
Upon arrival, domestic passengers enter the international joint inspection zone on the third floor as guided by service personnel, and then wait for flight at the international departure hall after passing inspection.
2. Domestic passengers transferring to international flights via Shenzhen without a checked-through ticket
Upon arrival, passengers collect their checked luggage from the baggage claim hall for domestic flights. After heading to the international check-in counter in Zone D and checking in, they then enter the integrated inspection zone on Level 3. After the inspection has been completed, passengers go to the international departure lounge and wait to board their flight.
II. International-to-domestic flight transfers
1. International passengers transferring to domestic flights via Shenzhen using a checked-through ticket
Upon arrival, international passengers are led to Immigration by transfer service personnel and head to the waiting area to wait for their checked luggage to be inspected. When this inspection has been completed, transfer service personnel guide passengers toward the customs inspection counter to have their boarding passes scanned. After it has been confirmed that their checked luggage does not need to be opened for inspection, passengers’ luggage is transferred. Passengers then travel through the dedicated international transfer thoroughfare to the international transfer terminal where after undergoing a security check they enter the domestic departure lounge to wait to board their flight.
2. Other international passengers transferring to domestic flights via Shenzhen without a checked-through ticket
Upon arrival, international passengers go through a quarantine and immigration check and then head toward the international luggage claim hall to collect their checked luggage. They then go through a customs inspection. After this inspection, passengers take an escalator to the domestic departure terminal of Zones A or B to check in. When this has been completed, they undergo a security check and enter the domestic departure lounge to wait to board their flight.
III. International-to-international flight transfers
Upon arrival, international passengers holding valid visas go through an immigration check. After this, they head to the international luggage claim hall to collect their checked luggage and then go through a customs inspection. They then take an elevator to the departure terminal on Level 4 and check in at the check-in counter in Zone D. Passengers then enter the integrated international inspection zone on Level 3. After going through an inspection, they head toward the international departure lounge and wait to board their flight.

Notice: As Shenzhen airport does not currently implement all visa exemption policies including 24-hour visa-free entry, all foreign nationals (excluding those from visa-exempt countries) must apply for a Chinese visa in advance if their flight transits in Shenzhen according to the Sixth Freedom Right, or if they enter China via a visa-free airport but their journey contains a domestic trip to Shenzhen.
