Ciqikou is also called 'Small Chongqing'. The old town has 12 streets, along which there are many Ming- and Qing-style buildings. The ground is paved with slate and all kinds of stores are found on both sides of the streets. Business and trade are centralized on the large piers and Jinrong Street, close to the piers. Ciqikou is the birthplace of Sha-Ci culture and is named after the porcelain produced here. The porcelain produced at Ciqikou is of good quality and a wide variety is available. The most distinctive is the teahouse.In the past, there were teahouses everywhere in this millennium town. The major means of public transit in the main urban area of Chongqing is the bus. Buses are classified into ordinary buses and air-conditioned buses. The fare for an ordinary bus is one yuan and that for an air-conditioned bus is two yuan. The operation hours of the buses are 5:30 to 22:00.
