Bali

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot, built in the 16th century, is one of Bali's most important seaside temples.Tanah Lot means "land in the sea" in Balinese.The temple lies on a huge rock formation on the seaside. Whenever the tide rises, the temple, isolated from the land, stands alone in the sea, the rock surrounded by seawater.The temple is not accessible by land until the tide falls.Tanah Lot is a part of Bali mythology. It is said that poisonous sea snakes under the rock are the guardians of the temple and prevent evil spirits and intruders from disturbing it.

Tirta Empul Temple

Legend has it that, in a war between the powerful and evil king Mayadenawa and the gods, Mayadenawa poisoned the water while the troops of god Indra slept. Indra appeared and created another spring that saved his troops.This spring is called Tirta Empul. Tirta Empul Temple has 13 spouts of crystal-clear water flowing for more that a millennium.Each spout has a different function. Some ward off calamities; some treat pain; and some cleanse the soul. Nearby residents come to bathe in the morning, afternoon and evening.A European-style building stands on the hill near Tirta Empul Temple and serves as Indonesia's presidential palace, hosting politicians from all over the world.

Blue Point

"Blue Point" is located on Uluwatu cliff over an unrivaled romantic seascape.The famous surfing destination below the cliff attracts top European and American surfers.The infinity pool with incomparable seascape looks as though the swimming pool and sea are one.By contrast, the nearby wedding chapel shows is more romantic, the entire structure made of a single piece of transparent glass, except the white roof and structural column. It faces the clear and vast Indian Ocean and takes you to a fairyland.

Kuta Beach

One of the most famous beaches in Bali. It is located a short distance from the airport and has many inexpensive hostels.Kuta Beach, considered the most beautiful coast in Bali, is a surfing and skateboarding paradise, with flat landform and fine, pure-white grains of sand.It was once a small village between Batang and Phuket Burning Sura and is now a bustling tourist destination.Kuta's charm lies in its unique waves suitable for all ages.Both ends of the crescent-shaped bay are perfect for wading and learning how to surf. A lot of coconut milk, pepper, cloves, cardamom, curry and other spices and seasonings are used in Indonesian dishes, along with chili sauce ready on the table to create strong flavors.The Balinese staple food is rice, which is very fragrant, especially when steamed in a coconut shell.Chicken, beef, fish, liver, eggs and a variety of vegetables are prepared using the Padang cooking method (Padang is the main city on the island of Sumatra).Roast suckling pig, roast duck, Ubud dirty duck, spicy chicken, spicy fish, fried chicken and delicious fruit platters are local specialties.Coconut milk is one of the favorite beverages in Bali.Roast suckling pig is cooked by steaming and roasting on a low fire in banana leaves, herbs and spices. Bali Satay

Fried chicken

Bali papaya

Papaya is a must. There are two kinds of local papaya; one is small, the other big. Both the juice and whole fruit are delicious.Papaya sweetness is pure.Selection techniques:Larger papayas are sweeter.

Bali is Indonesia's most visited tourist area and has quite convenient transportation.Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport is located on the main route between Asia and Central Australia, with many available flights.Bali also has a highly developed cruise ship system, but few tourists choose to take regular cruises to Bali because of their relatively low quality.

Bus

You can visit Bali’s larger towns by bus.Reservations for the Shuttle Bus service is available. It is very convenient because you can negotiate the price and choose a time and location in advance.

Cruises

Cruises toward Bali sail from Java Island, Sumatra, Kalimantan Island, Malaysia and the Philippines as well as Vietnam and Thailand on the South Sea route.There are different classes of cruises, but most of them are passenger-and-freight boats carrying both passengers and cargo. Quality is generally low, and they are frequently overloaded.Despite low ticket prices, tourists are advised not to take this kind of boat for long journeys.You can come to Surabaya by plane and transfer for a half-hour boat ride to Bali.

Climate

Bali is equatorial and has a tropical, climate with annual average temperature of 28℃. Low temperature is 5℃, and high temperature is 35℃.It has dry and rainy seasons. The dry season is April to October, with relatively little rainfall.The rainy season starts in December and lasts until March. During this period, expect heavy rain almost every day, but most of day is clear and doesn't hinder travel. However, it is very humid.Annual average precipitation is 2000 mm.
