Notes:

  • 1. The total dimensions of carry-on baggage should be smaller or equal to 115cm (approximately the size of a 20-inch suitcase). Please make sure your baggage conforms to the specifications set out by the airport’s security department.
  • 2. Airport security departments are likely to change carry-on baggage allowances in accordance with changes to the security threat level. Please comply with any such changes.

Lithium batteries

When carrying a reasonable amount of spare batteries needed for travel as well as mobile phone; laptop; camera; or other equipment with lithium batteries (such as power banks) for personal use on a fight, the following points should be noted:

  • 1. Electric equipment may be placed in your checked baggage or carried in your carry-on baggage, but a reasonable amount of spare batteries may only be carried in your carry-on baggage;
  • 2. During the flight, please switch off and prevent the accidental start-up of all lithium battery-powered devices. All spare batteries must be packed separately, with their electrodes suitably protected in order to avoid spontaneous explosion or combustion caused by friction, collision or short circuit.
  • 3.Using a charger to charge electronic equipment is prohibited during the flight. A charger with an on/off switch should be shut off during the flight.
Lithium battery specifications Maximum quantity permitted Transportation regulation
Rated Energy: < 100wh - No need to declare. Can be placed inside carry-on baggage.
Rated Energy: < 100wh - < 160wh 2p Should be declared to the airline and approved before boarding.
Rated Energy: >160wh - Should be declared to the airline and submitted for freight shipping.

Note:
Please confirm the specification marked on the lithium battery (in wh) before boarding a flight. A lithium battery’s specification is calculated using its rated energy (wh). Batteries without an indicated rated energy use the following formula to calculate their rated energy:

  1. Rated Energy (wh) = battery capacity (Ah) × nominal voltage (V).
  2. The unit conversion for battery capacity is 1Ah=1000mAh.

Liquids

  • 1. All liquids, gels, and aerosols must be stored in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml. Any items over 100 ml (even if not full) are not allowed in the cabin and must be placed in checked baggage.
  • 2. All liquid containers should fit comfortably inside a re-sealable transparent plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 1 liter (L). Each passenger can only have one transparent plastic bag and shall transport any liquids which exceed this limit in their checked baggage.
  • 3. The plastic bag used to hold liquids must be checked separately at the security checkpoint. Baby formula, milk, or breast milk (only for passengers travelling with infants) and other required liquid medicines brought by diabetics or other patients should be submitted for inspection with appropriate labelling at the security checkpoint. Liquid medicines should also be stored in 100 ml containers in a transparent plastic bag.
  • 4. Any liquids purchased beyond the security checkpoint within the airport terminal can be carried on board.
